Abstract
In this research, two types of alloys were developed, the first of pure titanium (Ti Pure) and the second of the alloy of titanium (Ti Alloy) through surface engineering using the method of diffusion coating with aluminum. The aluminum coating process of both groups was carried out using the standard pack cementation method at a temperature of (〖1000 〗^o C). For the purpose of knowing the efficiency of the coating in protecting the alloy from periodic oxidation and hot corrosion, the test was carried out in an electric furnace at a temperature of (〖900 〗^o C) and under normal atmospheric pressure. The Aluminum-coated Ti Alloy samples showed remarkably high efficiency in the alloy's resistance against corrosion by comparing the behavior of the painful samples of that alloy with a standard non-painful sample of the same type that underwent the same conditions during hot wear testing. The samples of the first group of pure titanium (Ti Pure) coated with aluminum showed relative efficiency in protecting the alloy from corrosion and in the same conditions. We conclude from this that the coating of titanium and its alloys samples with aluminum led to a clear improvement in their resistance against oxidation and hot corrosion.
