Abstract
Conflicts are an ancient phenomenon in human societies, and at the state level, particularly in countries experiencing security instability, such as those in the Middle East. Major powers use these conflicts as an arena for resolving their conflicts, making these smaller countries their victims, as is the case with Syria. The basic hypothesis of the research is that the importance of the Syrian state and its proximity to the United States' allies make it of paramount importance in the calculations of major powers. The more the United States relies on it, the more conflict therein intensifies. The appropriate division of the research is to divide it into two sections, each consisting of two questions. In the first section, we address the definition of conflict and clarify the difference between the concept of conflict and other concepts such as war, in addition to clarifying its causes and methods for ending the conflict. In the second section, we address the concept of political geography, explain the geography of the Middle East, touch on the concept of human security, and highlight the importance of the Syrian state.
