Abstract
There is disagreement about the existence of political opposition in Iraq after 2003. Some deny it, while others say it exists but is ineffective. Based on this, we can formulate the research problem as follows: Is there a political opposition in Iraq after 2003? Are there real reasons for its existence? What are the obstacles that stand in its way? The research hypothesis is that the political opposition in Iraq after 2003 is still in its infancy. There are real reasons for its existence, but at the same time, there are obstacles that stand in its way. The importance of the research lies in its addressing a topic that has not received its due share of research and discussion. Therefore, the ideas presented in the research are useful for activating the Iraqi opposition and making it a mirror of democratic action in the country. The research relied on a systematic analysis approach. It reached several conclusions, such as: 1 - The quota system in Iraq, based on allocating quotas to all, deprived Iraq of the opportunity to establish a genuine opposition. 2 - International recognition of the Iraqi opposition is the first pillar of increasing its effectiveness.
