| Abstract | ||
| The true Islamic religion emphasized the importance of knowledge and its status, and that seeking knowledge is an act of worship and an obligation in Islam. This is considered one of the first motives that encouraged Muslims to compose and write, and the beginning of the launch of their scientific and intellectual activity. They composed valuable works in various sciences and knowledge, including history. Among these works are books of biographies, translations, genealogies, local histories, autobiographies, individual biographies, and general history that preserved the heritage of Islam. It is the memory of the nation that stores the features of its cultural identity, and a feature that distinguishes them from other nations, and a wonderful example in embodying the Arab-Islamic civilization. The research dealt with studying the scientific output of the scholars of the Maghreb and Andalusia in the field of authorship through the book (Wafiyat al-A'yan wa Anba Abna al-Zaman) by Ibn Khallikan (d. 681 AH/1282 AD). The study sought to shed light in this research on the efforts of Moroccan and Andalusian scholars in the field of authorship and their works on various topics and in various branches of history, and they put forth valuable and extensive works in it. Many of them were characterized by scientific honesty. Criticism and extreme accuracy in historical documentation. | ||
