Abstract
Parliamentary committees play a pivotal role in the legislative process within parliaments. They serve as the technical and practical engine for drafting and reviewing laws before they are presented to plenary sessions. These committees study draft laws submitted by the government or representatives, analyze their content, make necessary amendments, and consult with experts and stakeholders. This ensures that laws are accurate, enforceable, and take into account the public interest. Committees vary between permanent and temporary, and cover various fields such as legislation, economics, health, education, and others, allowing for specialization and precision in discussing laws according to their scope. Committees also contribute to parliamentary oversight by reviewing the performance of executive bodies and assessing their compliance with the laws. In short, parliamentary committees constitute the cornerstone for developing effective, balanced, and well-thought-out legislation that contributes to achieving legal stability and national development.
