Abstract
The role of the European Union in addressing migration and asylum crises has become increasingly significant in recent years due to armed conflicts, difficult economic conditions, and climate change in parts of the Middle East and Africa. This research aims to analyze the EU’s policies and measures for managing refugees and migrants, focusing on the Common European Asylum System, cooperation agreements with neighboring countries, resettlement programs, and border control mechanisms. The study also discusses the challenges faced by the EU, including the divergence in member states’ positions, political tensions, and difficulties in balancing humanitarian obligations with national security requirements, The research concludes that the EUs success In handling migration crises depends on developing sustainable and balanced policies that combine European solidarity with the protection of refugees rights. The research relies on the descriptive analytical approach to analyze European policies, the use of the comparative approach to compare the positions of member states, and the historical approach to trace the development of the crisis from 2015 to the present day.
