Abstract
(1Z,2Z)-1,2-diphenyl-N1,N2-bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diimine methanimine (DBED) L1, a new nano ligand, was produced by The condensation reaction of 1mol of 1,2-diphenylethane-1,2-dione with 2 mol of pyridin-2-ylmethanamine in anhydrous ethanol. Nano mononuclear complexes with Cu(II), Ag(I), and Au(III) ions generated by this ligand. The compounds were recognized by means of mass spectrometry, 1HNMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis (C,H,N),atomic absorption, (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, (FT-IR) spectroscopy ,magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity, while the XRD, and FE-SEM revealed purity for the compounds and their crystal structure flaws when ligands become metal complexes. The elemental analysis and metal complexes composition data showed that the metal-to-ligand ratio is [M(L)], where M is Cu(II), Ag(I), and Au(III), and (DBED) is an azomethine ligand. Proposed structure is tetrahedral for Ag(I) complex, square planar for Au(III) complex whereas the Cu(II) compound has an octahedral geometry were discussed. Copper complex were non-conductive, but all others were electrolytic. The compounds were temporally stable and inhibited pathogenic Staphylococcus. aureus and Escherichia. coli. The study also examined the toxicity of (DBED)and its Au(III) complex to PC-3 human prostate cancer cells and other normal cells in vitro .Au(III) complex has a stronger affinity for cancer cells than the ligand but no effect on non-cancer cells. DFT estimated molecular energy levels with B3LYP/631G basis set. Au(III) complex and (DBED) were optimally placed at receptor crucial regions using Mo-lecular Operating Environment (MOE). These results suggest that the Au(III) complex exhibits promising in vitro anticancer activity against prostate cancer cells . |
