Abstract
This study aimed to examine the effect of (BABA), which is a non-protein amino acid, and its role in modulating a defensive response on a portion of immune indicators that are closely related to gut health. Interleukins are considered key as they contribute to regulating interactions between innate immunity and acquired immunity, among which (IL22) and (IL23) gain significant importance due to their role in maintaining the integrity and health of the intestinal barrier and regulating inflammatory processes. Accordingly, their levels were measured to estimate their response to treatment with the acid BABA. The results showed no significant difference in IL22 levels between the treated groups and the control group, indicating that administering the acid did not affect the immune pathway. In contrast, clear significant differences were found in IL23 levels, where they decreased at concentrations of 100 and 200, suggesting a possible role for this cytokine in modulating immunity related to exposure to the acid. The results also indicated that PP2A levels did not show any significant differences between the control group and the treatments, which implies that the regulatory protein PP2A remained stable and was not affected by the BABA acid during the experiment period. Finally, the results indicate that the BABA molecule may appear.
