| Abstract | ||
| This research aims to study the role of United Nations peacekeeping forces in managing armed conflicts and promoting international peace and security. It does so by analyzing the nature of their missions, assessing their effectiveness in various field environments, and exploring the challenges they face during their operations. The research employs a descriptive-analytical approach, supported by a comparative analysis of several field experiences of peacekeeping missions in different regions of the world.. The findings showed that peacekeeping forces contribute to reducing violence and protecting civilians, particularly when operating within a clear mandate, with adequate logistical and human support, and with strong political will from contributing countries. The research also indicated that the effectiveness of these forces declines in complex conflicts involving non-state actors, or in situations lacking partnership with local institutions and civil society. The research concluded that developing the capabilities of peacekeeping forces, strengthening international coordination, and engaging local communities are essential elements for ensuring more sustainable outcomes.. This research contributes to enriching the literature on the role of peacekeeping operations, and provides a reliable analytical framework for evaluating future experiences and suggesting ways to improve mission performance in line with the requirements of contemporary international security. | ||
