Abstract
This research examines the legal framework for combating cryptocurrency and digital currency crimes through two main sections. The first section analyzes the conceptual framework of these crimes, with the first section reviewing their concept and various types, such as fraud, money laundering, and hacking. The second section focuses on the legal challenges facing countries in combating these crimes, particularly regarding the decentralized and cross-border nature of these crimes, the difficulty of collecting digital evidence, and issues related to jurisdiction. The second section discusses the mechanisms of criminal accountability in comparative law. The first section examines the various legislative models for combating these crimes, focusing on European, American, Arab, and African models, and highlighting the similarities and differences between them. The research concludes with the second section, which highlights the role of international cooperation in enhancing criminal liability by analyzing existing cooperation mechanisms and proposing future recommendations to enhance this cooperation in the face of the ongoing challenges posed by cryptocurrency crimes.
