| Abstract | ||
| The study aims to investigate the effect of genetic beta-3 adrenaline receptor gene and hair color on milk production and its components in local goats. This study was conducted in the fields of the College of Agriculture / University of Diyala for the period from 10/1/2025 to 5/1/2025 on a sample of 40 local goats aged 1.5-2 years. This study was conducted in two stages, the first was a field experiment and the second was a laboratory (molecular) While the laboratory part was carried out in the Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratory in the Department of Animal Production / University of Diyala / College of Agriculture, which included extracting the genetic material and using electrophoresis. The animals were classified into three colors to study hair color and the effect of the beta-3 adrenaline receptor gene. 40 local goats were used in this study using SNP technology to determine the polymorphism of the gene, it was found that there is no variation in the gene. Therefore, the effect of color and its relationship with milk production and components, body measurements and body weight were studied. It was generally observed that the effect of hair color does not affect many of the body measurements, weights, milk production and components, only the height of the hindquarters and body dimensions of the goat, as the white and red colors outperformed the black ones (72.50, 72.11 and 67.66) cm . | ||
