| Abstract | ||
| The rhetorical Appeal (al-isti'nāf al-bayānī) in the Qur'an encompasses a variety of meanings determined by the context in which it occurs. These meanings are numerous and manifest in diverse rhetorical forms. This study seeks to examine two of these meanings in particular: astonishment and indirect allusion (taʿrīḍ). It also aims to highlight their aesthetic and rhetorical features and to uncover some of the enduring secrets of Qur'anic expression. Accordingly, each of these two meanings—astonishment and indirect allusion—will be discussed in a separate section. The study is therefore organized into two main sections: the first examines explanatory resumption as an expression of astonishment, while the second explores explanatory resumption as a form of indirect allusion. These are followed by a conclusion and a bibliography of the primary and secondary sources that constituted the foundation for the preparation of this study. | ||
