| Abstract | ||
| As part of interactional communication, reduplication is a morphological process by which certain features of the root are used in the formation of a prefix or suffix. It forms a reinforcing role of everyday language in Iraqi dialect to create a specific semantic effect. The data are collected by observing daily linguistic interactions among Iraqi speakers. In accordance with English language, the collected data prove to have the three types of reduplication: full, vowel change and partial reduplication. The study is descriptive qualitative having morphological and semantic orientations as a crucial part of the analysis. It is worth mentioning that this study is representative not comprehensive. It is based on Vogel’s classifications of this phenomenon. | ||
