Abstract
The rapid and increasing pace of technological development has been accompanied by serious challenges known as "artificial intelligence crimes," committed through AI applications by developers, users, and the device itself. This necessitates shedding light on the nature of artificial intelligence crimes Researching the criminal texts that address it, which has led us to what is known as legislative shortcomings that require rapid intervention by the Iraqi legislator to confront it, in light of this situation, we chose the title of our research (Legislative shortcomings in confronting artificial intelligence crimes in Iraqi law). In preparing our research, we adopted several methodologies, including: 1. The analytical method: analyzing Iraqi legal texts related to the research topic. 2. The inductive method: examining criminal texts related to artificial intelligence crimes. 3. The comparative method: comparing Iraqi legal texts with those of other countries that have addressed the crimes under investigation. In preparing our research, we adopted a division of the research into two sections. The first section dealt with the conceptual framework of legislative shortcomings in criminal law and artificial intelligence crimes, while the second section presented the position of the Iraqi legislator and comparative legislations on artificial intelligence crimes.
