| Abstract | ||
| Abstract Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen implicated in severe wound infections in livestock. Out of 150 collected samples, 120 (80%) were confirmed as P. aeruginosa through cultural, biochemical, and VITEK 2 identification methods. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing revealed high resistance to tetracycline and chloramphenicol, while notable sensitivity was observed to ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin, gentamicin, and amikacin. Molecular analysis confirmed the presence of T2SS genes (lasA, lasB, toxA) and T3SS genes (exoS, exoT, exoU, exoY) with variable distribution among isolates. This study aimed to isolate and identify P. aeruginosa from infected cattle wounds in Basrah, assess its antimicrobial susceptibility, and detect virulence genes associated with Type II (T2SS) and Type III (T3SS) secretion systems using PCR. | ||
