| Abstract | ||
| Abstract: The present study was done to describe the macroscopic and microscopic structure of stomach of ten adult female Hamster (Phodopus sungorus) .The hamster stomach shows an anatomical features not presents in all species of rodents .It divided into glandular stomach and non-glandular fore stomach which they are separated by muscular septum , Samples of stomach collection done and then fixation occurs with 10% buffered formalin , sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin and Masson’s Trichrome staine for histochemical analysis . Other slides were advance stained with Alcian blue 2.5 stain (PAS and Periodic Acid Schiff and also. The figures of the stomach showed that gastric wall comprised of an ideal first tunica mucosa, second tunica submucosa,third tunica muscularis and fourth tunica serosa. The first layer tunica mucosa comprised of marked tall epithelial folds that lined by simple columnar epithelium while that the thick layer of the lamina propria had occupied by simple tubular glands (Gastric glands), and the muscularis mucosa has build-up by thin of 3-4 layers of smooth muscle fibers.The tunica submucosa was comprised of vascular loose connective tissue. The tunica muscularis was comprised of two layers of smooth muscle fibers which was inner circular layer and outer longitudinal layer of tunica muscularis, the outer layer was slightly thin while the outer layer was thicker.The histochemical result showed marked magenta color within epithelial mucous secreting cells (goblet cells) that lining the lumen of gastric glands. | ||
