| Abstract | ||
| The study aimed to identify the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and cardiovascular disease. The experiment was conducted in the laboratories of Al- Furat Al-Awsat Hospital in Najaf Governorate, and the study period was from 10/1/2026 to 30/3/2026. Blood samples were collected from 50 individuals: 25 healthy individuals without heart disease and 25 patients with cardiovascular disease (heart attack, arteriosclerosis, hypertension). At the end of the trial, there was no significant disparity in age distribution between the control and patient groups (P>0.05). . The majority of the control group members were aged 52-61 years (40%), while the highest percentage of patients were aged 72-81 years (45%). The statistical analysis showed a significant decrease (P<0.01) in Vitamin D3 levels in the patient group compared to the control group, with a mean of 48.04±2.91 in the control group and 10.85±0.69 in the patient group. A significant difference (P<0.01) in lipid levels was observed between the patient and control groups. At the same time, the patients indicated a substantial rise inside cholesterol tiers (273.30±11.6) assessment of a controlled category (133.05±3.77). The triglyceride levels in the patients (339.55±26.9) also showed a significant increase compared to the control group (119.80±3.24). Additionally, the patients' LDL levels (118.15±2.99) were significantly higher than those in the control group (78.65±2.80). Meanwhile, the beneficial HDL levels decreased significantly (P<0.01) in patients (30.70±1.17) compared with the control group.We conclude from this study that a deficiency in vitamin D3 is closely associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases through several mechanisms. | ||
