| Abstract | ||
| This study evaluated the gap between effectiveness and sustainability in food security and agricultural projects implemented by UN and international organizations in Yemen. Amidst the backdrop of a severe humanitarian crisis, it employed a quantitative descriptive–analytical approach, collecting primary data through a structured questionnaire administered to a specialized population of 158 employees across 19 organizations. Statistical analysis revealed high operational effectiveness (mean=4.13), whereas sustainability scored significantly lower (mean=3.63), with clear weaknesses in financial and institutional continuity. The findings suggest that this gap between the two indicators represents a systemic challenge, largely independent of demographic or organizational factors. The study concludes that relying solely on effectiveness metrics may provide a misleading picture of success in conflict-affected contexts. The main contribution of this research is the provision of statistical evidence highlighting this gap, underscoring the need for a strategic shift from focusing exclusively on project management to designing interventions that strengthen resilient local systems, ultimately transforming short-term aid into sustainable food security in Yemen | ||
