Effect of Roselle flower aqueous flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) extract to production Performance in Broiler Chickens | ||

| Abstract | ||
| A research study was conducted to determine the potential of aqueous extract of roselle flower in performance parameter of broiler chickens. Two hundred and eight of 3 weeks old broiler chicks(ROSS) raised from 3 to 6 weeks of age. The birds were distributed to 4 treatment groups with three replicates per treatment ( 12 males and 12 females per treatment). Aqueous extract of Roselle flowers was mixed at the rate 4 , 6 and 8% with water respectively while treatment one as control. A significant (p<0.05) increase of live body weight , weight gain , feed conversion and carcass yield were recorded for the broiler supplemented with Roselle extract with lower abdominal fat pad when compared with control group. No significant differences (p>0.05) were observed in giblet weight and dressing percentage .Supplemented of Roselle extract to the drinking water caused significant decline in blood serum levels of glucose , triglycerides and cholesterol .The conation of this study was indicated that groups receiving Roselle for broiler at the rate 6 and 8% of drinking water shown better growth performance | ||
