| Abstract | ||
| The term 'peptic ulcer' refers to an ulcer in the lower oesophagus , stomach or duodenum ,inthe jejunum after surgical anastomosis to the stomach ,or rarely in the ileum adjacent to a Meckle'sdiverticulum . The epigastric pain is often sharp in nature(the patient can indicate its site by 2 or 3fingers , the hunger pain occurs intermittently during the day often when the stomach is empty andis relieved on eating . The episodic pain occurs in lasting for 1-3 weeks at a time, 3-4 times ayear, A seventy five who were referred to endoscopy unit to verify their diagnosis of peptic ulcerdiseases were included in this study , all the seventy five patients under- went endoscopicalexamination to verify the diagnosis . Thirty nine (52%) of the patients showed a positiveendoscopical results . The endoscopical examination since it be an invasive method & may berefuse by many patients , so on depending on ( signs & symptoms ) & the non-invasive methods ofH. pylori tests we can confirm the diagnosis of peptic ulcer diseases in about or more than 90% ofthe cases to initiate the treatment | ||
