| Abstract | ||
| A six-year-old female child presented with widely disseminated skin lesions, nodules, nerve thickening and nerve damage resulting in deformities of both upper and lower limbs. She is a new case of multibacillary leprosy and classified as lepromatous leprosy with grade 2 disability. She was put on multidrug therapy. This case report is designed to stimulate an awareness of health authorities, toward the problem that leprosy is still presents in our country. This is considered the first case of leprosy with this rare presentation in children to be reported after several years of zero prevalence of new case in Iraq, non endemic area and outside of its main focus in Ammrah city. Leprosy should be in the list of causes of failure to thrive and short stature in pediatric age group. | ||
