| Abstract | ||
| Antipsychotic drugs are associated with sexual dysfunction and are said to be a major cause of non-compliance/poor compliance. This study was carried out to ascertain the frequency of sexual dysfunction in patients taking antipsychotics medications. To ascertain the frequency of sexual dysfunction in patients taking antipsychotics medication. Sexual dysfunction was assessed in 100 male patients receiving antipsychotic medication and 100 normal controls using Arizona Sexual Experience Scale (ASEX). Erectile dysfunction (52%) and ejaculatory dysfunction (50%) are the two most prominent sexual dysfunction affecting patients taking antipsychotics and the difference from control is statistically significant. As a conclusion, Sexual dysfunction among male patients on antipsychotic medications is relatively common. | ||
