| Abstract | ||
| The management of liver injures has changed dramatically during the past three decades,particularly for blunt trauma (1). 182 liver injuries cases were examined from January 1987 to Dec.2001 in Tikrit teaching Hospital. A 15 years review from a collected data of liver injuries &documented changes in treatment & outcome of management, in addition to mechanism & grade ofliver injury. shows the total number liver injuries in this study. 182 cases (96 blunt & 86 penetratingliver injuries were examined from 1987 to 2001. Blunt liver injuries were increasing with timeparticularly in the last 10 years from 15 cases to 50 cases.The sharp rise of penetrating liver injuries is shown in the year 1987 to 1988. Then the numberdecline after that period & remain relatively stable during the last 5 years. | ||
