| Abstract | ||
| A descriptive analytical study armed to assess the level of subjective distress of care on the families of schizophrenic patients. The study was conducted on families of schizophrenic patients who were hospitalized in Ibn- Rushed psychiatric teaching hospital. The study was conducted on all caregivers (N=148 in 60 families) of 60 schizophrenic patients. The study instrument was constructed particularly by the researchers for the purpose of the study, it consisted of 40 items; 20 items of them were positive and the other 20 items were negatives. The result have shown that caregiver’s age significant affects the somatic and the subjective distress of the caregivers of schizophrenics, and subjective distress had negatively influenced by family income. The researchers recommended that the families should be provided with expanded support and structured education by the local health authorities through well –trained psychiatrist nursing | ||
