| Abstract | ||
| To assess the impact of body height, weight and/or body mass index (BMI), in the occurrence of lumber disc herniation. A Prospective, case control study. Sixty two patients as a study group 39% are women with the age below 50 yrs (mean of the age 36.161 8.46) with a controlled group 74 persons below 50 yrs, 42% females (mean of the age 35.635 8.431).The studied groups were subjected to measurement of height and weight to derive body mass index (BMI). Supine straight leg raising (SLR) test is performed with the patients. The taller patients are found to be more liable to have lumber disc herniation. Conclusion: I suppose those patients with high height and weight (more BMI) are more prone to develop lumber disc herniation | ||
