Abstract
This research deals with spectrophotometric method for determination of TriprolidineHydrochloride drug (TPH) using two different oxidizing agents; Potassium permanganateand Fotassium dichromate.The analytical results obtained are as follow:l- The alkalinemedia (trlaOH): Potassium permanganate gives green solution which gives spectrum withamaximum absorption at 6l2nm its found that optimum sonc. for alkaline solution is 1.2X10-'M and lX10-3M for Potassium permanganate within 10 minutes oxidizing time. Thestatistical and other analytical results for drug concentration range (1-12) ppm are as follows:Correlation coefficient r = 0.9989 , molar absorption coefficient 26993 L/mol.cm andsandel's sensitivity is 0.0122pg1rt at Ln,u =61inm. This method is applied for thedetermination of TPH in pharmaceutical preparations with percentage recovery not less than96.22 %. Z-The acidic media (HCl): Potassium dichromate gives yellow solution withamaximum absorption at 350 nm the optimum conc .for acidic solution is 1X10'2 M andl.5Xl0-M for Potassium dichromate duringlS minutes oxidizing time. The statistical andother analytical results for drug concentration range (1-12) ppm are as follows: Correlationcoefficient r : 0.9969, molar absoqption coefficient 38559.5 L/mol.cm and sandel'ssensitivity is 0.0086p g1" ' at 1.n,'* =350nm This method is applied for the determination ofTPH in pharmaceutical preparations with percentage recovery not less than 94"66%.
