| AbstractThe research paper tackles the concept of identity crisis in Samuel Beckett's famous one – act play , Not I. It consists of three sections. The first section presents a brief introduction to the concept of identity in psychoanalysis with reference to the opinions of the psychoanalysts: Jacques Lacan and Erik Erikson. The second section is devoted to approaching identity crisis in the play. It explains how the nameless character undergoes an identity crisis which is manifested in the character's language and her way of thinking. Finally, the research rounds off with some concluding remarks drawn from Not I. | ||
