| Abstract | ||
| To investigate the effect regulator application on growth characters of some sorghum cultivars, afield experiment was conducted in the fall season of 2008 at the agricultural fields of missan ,government. Asplite – plot design was used with three replication . The main plots occupied different the ways of plant growth regulator application(Cultar ,Gibberellin ,Cultar+Gibberellin ,control).whereas the sup – plots treatment included sorghum cultivars namely Giza, Inqath,Rabih ,Kafeir. The results as the following:Application of cultar in creased leaf area were reduced by 22.21%,leaf area index were reduced by23.35%,dry weight were reduced by25.31% the number of day to 50% and the number of day to reach physiological maturity stage were reduced by 14.35 ,15.23% respectively where redused plant height by 27.25% compared with the control treatment. Giza cultivar gave hight leaf area (6368.5 cm/plant), leaf area index (5.42),plant height (228.2 cm) and dry weight (20.18 t/h). also recorded less growth periods from planting date to physiological maturity stage by 22.23 days compared with the control treatment. | ||
