| Abstract: This study is concerned with dodder in Southern Iraq especially Amarah district . The results show that water extracts of four common plant species were used . They are Cynodon dactylon L., Imperata cylindrica L.,Sorghum helepense L.and pharagmitis communis L. Two separate field experiments were carried out to test the effect of these extracts on the growth of dodder (Cuscuta planiflora ) infecting egg plant enormously. The results showed : 1-Water extracts of weeds under investigation have significant effect on the degree of killing dodder in comparison with control treatment after 30 days . 2- The extract of Cynodon dactylon has the highest effect of controlling dodder . 3- The extract of Cynodon dactylon has the highest effect of stimulation growth and improving quality of egg plant after 30 days of treatment . | ||
