Abstract
State intervened in the pricing of the strategic grain crops, including maize since the beginning of the seventies of the last century in order to encourage producers of these crops to increase production on the one hand and provide the products to consumers at reasonable prices on the other. But the consequences of this intervention a number of effects that may be undesirable on the overall economic performance of both producer and consumer of these agricultural products and as a result of the effects of direct or indirect for some economic variables, came of this research to analyze price policy that intervene through the state in the pricing of crop maize to reach some of the indicators that show the nature of these policy interventions, has been achieved this goal by using an analytical technique called the policy Analysis Matrix. (PAM) (policy analysis matrix) The results of the matrix there is no real government support of the output or input and output low-cost production. It also showed transactions of comparative advantage that Iraq does not have a comparative advantage and has no ability to compete for the production of this crop worldwide. Therefore recommended to amend the policy research support in place to include the elements of production in order to raise production efficiency per unit area and to achieve comparative advantage.
