The research was conducted at the Huriah province/ Najaf Governorate , Iraq to investigate the effect of mounting row crop lifting attachment of the srtaigh cut grain platform in the header performance under the condition of lodged rice crop. A combine Claas Dominator 68 S was used and the experiment was conducted as a R.C.B.D in a split – split plot design. The main plot was the lifting attachment with four levels ( with out lifter WL , straight lifter LS, lifter at 100 L 100 and lifter at 200 L200 ) and the subplot was the reel location with two levels ( with the cut height P1 and above the cut height ) while the direction of harvest according to the lodging direction was the sub-sub plots with three levels (opposite D1 , with D2 and perpendicular D3 to the direction of lodged rice ). To compare the means , LSD test was used at 0.05 level.
The parameters discussed by this study were the combine effective field speed , Reel index , Reel trajectory motion , bunch of rice stalk above platform and the header losses .
The results indicated that:
1- The mounting of row crop lifting attachment on the combine header during the lodged rice harvesting had improved the combine header performance by reducing Reel index ,improving the Reel trajectory motion ,the time required for harvesting and provide support to guide more heads into the header and reducing the header losses .
2- The reel location in relation to the cutter bar showed a significant effect in the combine header losses and the bunch of rice stalk height above the platform, on the other hand, no significant effect were detected in the other parameters.
3- Generally the harvesting direction helped in improving the combine header performance, for instance, harvesting in opposite direction with regard to the direction of lodged rice had given low bunch of rice stalk height above the platform and the reduced the cutter bar losses.
4- The interaction between rice lifting attachment and harvesting direction had a significant effect on all parameters investigated .In general the header performance improved when the rice lifting attachment located in a straight or a 10 position at all harvesting direction . However, harvesting in a perpendicular direction with regard to lodging direction was the best in reducing the header losses .
5- The tripple interaction had a significant effect on all parameters investigated and the best combine performance could occur when the rice lifting attachment located in astraight or a 10ْ position and the reel was down (at the cutting level ) and in all harvesting direction .

6- Attaching the lodged ricelifter under the cutterbar fingers and the support of the free end of the finger had a large effect on the forceability and the activity of the lifter while the manufactured dimensions of the lifter met with the goal of the lifter design and gave high manuvarability without any restriction to the reel motion or to the cutterbar resprocating motion . |
