| Abstract | ||
| My choice of this subject according to historical views that explain efforts and social activities of the British consuls in Syria during an important historical period represented by first half of the nineteenth century. This matter needs to distribute the study to the following points: 1- British consuls and social life in Syria in the beginning of nineteenth century. 2- Social activity of British consuls and their relations with the ingredients of Syrian society. 3- social reaction between British consuls activity and state population The study stressed that in spite of isolation that has been lived by British consuls in Syrian society as a strangers in sex, language, religions, system and civilization, this society has wanted from these strange categories to live normaly not to penetrate inside Syrian society deeply. British consuls has been isolated and with drawed by Muslims majority. British consuls who were resident in Syrian's cities and port had their own distinguished social life. They were forming a simple categories inside the traditions and way of living of the Syrian society. They felt with estrangement so they needed to meet and connect with their citizens from the same home and society. That’s why they gathered with each other making what is called. Al (comon) or English nation. They made this social bloc because they were afraid from living inside a society a different from their society nationally and religiously. That’s mean their getting closer to each other was to self defense against the apponent attitude of origin population, thus, they would be respectful and privileges implemented by ruling power but, British consuls were ill – using these privileges given to them by government. They were trying to interfere in state's affairs that's why social malicious have been created against them. | ||
