| A total of 296 blood samples were collected from patients showing with clinical signs of septicemia . The study period was from 1-9 –2002 to 30 –2 –2003 . Bacterial agents were isolated from ( 34.79%) culture Gram negative bacteria were isolated with the highest percentage. Enterobacter sp. was maximally isolated among the pathogenic bacteria ( 20.38 % ) followed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa (11.65 %),E. coli ( 8.73 %) then Klebsiellia sp.( 4.85 %) , Actinobacter ( 3.88 % ) , low percentage of Proteus sp. ( 1.94 % ) was obtained in this study . Gram postive bacteria is Staphylococcus epidermidis ( 41.74 % ) and Staphylococcus aureus ( 6.79 % ) only . The proportion of sensitivity of the most common microorganisms to different antibiotics were presented . These antibiotics include : Ampicillin , Amoxycillin , Cloxacillin , Pencillin G , Ceftazidime , Cefotaxime , Trimetheprin , Rifampicin , Titracycillin , Erythromycin , Co – trimoxozol , Norflexacin , Vancomycin , Gentamicin , Tobramycin , Ciprofloxacin and Amikacin |
