| Abstract | ||
| Language is one of the means of communicating with each other. It reflects knowledge and understanding of people and shows their ideas and their education. The following paper shows a pragmatic analysis of interviews of two American presidents, to see their degree of politeness. It contains three sections and the preview. - The preview:- contains the problem which shows the levels of politeness of two American presidents, the hypothesis which shows the strategies of using the language ,the aim of the study which shows the relationship between the language use and the social level of the users of the language, the limitation of the study shows that it is only two American presidents' interviews are going to be analyzed and finally the significance of the study which shows the style of language used by the higher rank of the society. - Section one:- deals with the Speech-Act theory. - Section two:- studies the concept of politeness and some other relevant notions. - Section three:- shows a pragmatic analysis of two interviews of Mr. President George W. Bush and Mr. President Baraak H. Obama. - Finally:- the conclusion of the study. | ||
