| Field experiment was conducted to study the effect of foam sulfur application on nitrogen losses by volatilization from soil, elements availablty (N, P, K, Fe and Zn) in soil and uptake by corn. Two treatments were used: In the first was applied 2000Kg.S. thier and control treatment (without Foam sulfur). Corn seeds were planted, and used as the biological indicator to find out the effect of sulfur application on nutrients uptake, dry weight and yield.Randomized complete block design with three replications was used. Irrigation water was applied to field capacity when 55% of available water was loft .Results showed that Foam sulfur application caus significant reduce (P=0.05) in nitrogen losses by volatilization at percent 33% compared control treatment. Results also showed that significant increase (P=0.05) in elements available P ,Fe ,Zn in soil percent 44% ,27% , 21% respectively and uptake increase percent 35% ,21% ,22% respectively compared with control treatment, with significant increase in dry weight and yield. |
