The laboratory experiment showed the ability of bacteria Pseudomonas fluorescens to reduce the eggs hatching of Meloidogyne javanica at high concentration ( 20%) to
( 80%) and after 72 hours from eggs exposure to bacteria. The concentration of( 20%) eliminated the juvenile (L2) of nematode ( 80%) 72 hours from eggs exposure to bacteria. In a field experiment ( plastic house ), the high concentration of ( 20%) of bacteria led to an increase in shoot length (103,3 cm) and root length (56,13 cm) of tomato plants. An increase in fresh and dry shoot weight (195,4 g ),(38,33 g ) respectively , fresh and dry root weight (36,38 g ),(5,33 g ) respectively .A decrease in gall root index to (2) was recorded, Compared with shoots length(57,7 cm)and root length (37,8 cm) in presence of nematode and decrease in fresh, dry shoots weight(135,3 g )(26,45 g )respectively and increase gall root index to(5). Result showed that biocontrol of root-knot nematode is possible by using the Pseudomonas fluorescens. |
