A methylated sugar pentose (a-L-Fucose) was investigated in 12 abnormally proliferated cells
represents 331 cases, These were includes 95 leukaemia, 150 normal pregnancy, 50 type-II DM, 10
thalassaemia, 2 Hodgkin` s disease, 3 colone cancer, 2 stomach cancer, 4 multiple myeloma, 5 pancreas
cancer, and 10 breast cancer. Data obtained were compared with that of healthy controlled objects (100
samples).
The study was comprehensive the determination of the clinical parameters related, i.e, total
protein, protein bound fucose, protein bound Hexoses, and total calcium in an attempt reflecting their
clinical values as biomarkers. Ratios concerning the distribution of total fucose and related parameters were
compared to the total protein. Degree-fold increases were also determined concerning total fucose in
proliferative cells to that of normal values. |
