Effect of Different Caffeine Concentrations on Sperm Parameters of Asthenospermic Patients | ||

| Abstract | ||
| The study is an attempt to improve the sperm parameters of asthenospermic patients by using centrifugation-washing technique, with Earle's balanced salt and glucosaline medium and addition three different concentrations of caffeine (0.043, 0.074 and 0.097 molar separately]. Three incubation periods (30, 45 and 60 minute) were used for all sperm activation specimens. A 0.043 molar of caffeine with Earle's or glucosaline media caused significant increase (P<0.001) in sperm motility percent and grade activity compared to the control group (Earle's or glucosaline alone) in 30 minute of incubation period also a significant differences were noticed between this concentration and other two concentrations (0.074 and 0.097 molar) when added to glucosaline in different incubation period. The results showed insignificant difference in sperm motility index between Earle's medium with caffeine and glucosaline medium with caffeine in different incubation periods and concentrations. | ||
