Mixed catechol- salicyladiminenate derivatives of antimony
(III) and tin (IV) of the general formula M(cate)L"]X, [where:M= Sb, X= 0; M=Sn, X= Cl; cate=catechol; n=l, L=aniline, n=2, L=m bromo-aniline, n=3, L=p-bromoaniline] were prepared by the reaction of equimolar amount of [(cate)MCln], [where n=l or 2] with N arylsalicylaldimines HOC6H4CH=NC6Hs (HL1 , HOC6H4CH= NC6H4
(HL1
and p-HOC6H4CH = NC6 Br (HL3) in methanol as a solvent.
These new derivatives were characterised by elemental analysis and spectroscopic methods [(I.R), (U.V-Vis) and ctH, 13C NMR for HL2 ] along with conductivity and melting point measurements. These studies revealed that the geometry about Sb (ill) and Sn (IV) is
tetrahedral. |
