| Abstract | ||
| A Fospective study included 110 patients with galibladder pathology, diagnosed on clinical bases and ultrasonic examination and Foved by intra operative firding and histopatological €valuation ofthe removed gallbladders. The aim ofthis study is to know wither the selection oflhe surgical procedure (open or laparoscopic cholecysteciomy) has an effect on decreasing the intra and postoperative complication and increasing the success rate of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Open cholecystectomy was perform€d to 35 patients because of: 1- Cardiac problem fhat cannot witbstand abdominal insufflation. 2- Associated ;nta abdomiml pathology. 3- Previous multiple abdominal operations. 4- complicated cholecystitis inform of empayema or gangrenous cholecystitis, presence ofconmon bile duct stone, or exceeding tbree days liom ihe last attack witb out response to medical aeatment. 5- Refusal of laparoscopic cholecystecromy by the patjents. Seventy five patients underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy, fhe intra and post operative complications were recorded as well as the success rate ofthe operation which compare with other studies. The study concluded that selection is exist and ii is dedease the intra and post operative complications and increase the success rate of tbe oDemtion | ||
