| Sone aspects of purine metabolism including the activities of some enzymes involved iD purine nucleotides metabolisn: Adenosine deaminase (ADA), AMP- deaminase (AMPDA), 5'-Nocleotidase (5'-NT) and xanthiDe oxidase (XO) were srudied in human sera and tissues ofhealthy women (!$ed as nornral control) and palients with different diseases as follow: Chronic cervicities and uterine sdenomyosis (wlich lvere used as pathological conlrols),benign uterine 1 mors, Prcmal;gnancy group (which represerrr parienE with chronic cewicilies with mild lo moderate hyperplasia), a d ceryix and utefus cancer. Seveml connnon diflerences in the obtained data, which expressed ir felatioD to prolein contenl. were evident anrong the above groups. The rcsults indicalc tlat thefe were a sigDificant decrease irL sera, ADA and AMPDA specific activiiies of patienls with cervix and terus cancer conpafed with thal of control, pathological conffol (nalnely: chrooic cervicitis and uterine adenornyosis). benign uterine tLmo,, and premalignancy group(P<0.001). while there were significant increases in ADA and AMPDA specjfic activilies oftissue homogenates ofpalients with cewix and uterus cancer when compared wilh thal of the sanc above meniioned groups (P<0.0J). As fhr as 5'-NT specific activilies was concened, significant increases were obseNed in sera and Lissues homogenales ofpatients with cervix and uterus cancer as compared to the othef groups (P <0.01). The dehydrogeuase activities of XO in sem and tissues homogeDates of patients wilh cervix and uterus cancef show a significant decfcase (P <0.05) in comparison to thai ofother gfoups, while thcre were no derectable oxidase activities ofXo in sefa ofcontrol ard patients with uterus caDce | ||
