| Abstract | ||
| Cryptic bacterial blood stream infection in persistent enteric fever patient is being reported in 68:268 (25.3%) at Babylon governorate. Cell-Wall Defective (CWD) Salmonella typhi, S.paratyphi A, S.paratypi B, Brucella spp. were noted. CWD Salmonella were resistant to cell wall acting antibiotics and highly sensitive to protein synthesis inhibitory antibiotics. The index of sensitivity of CWD culture techniques were running between 73.3-76.9% in compared with 33.3% of the routine whole blood culture technique. Z-statistic has shown significant statistical difference in comparison to the routine culture technique. | ||
