Abstract
Abstract
New derivatives of acetylenic amines containing sulfonamido, -naphthoxy and hippurate groups have been synthesized through Mannich reaction which involved reaction of N-(1,1-dimethylpropargyl) benzene sulfonamide, propargyl--naphthyl ether and propagyl hippurate with paraformaldehyde and secondary amines. The structures of the synthesized compounds have been elucidated by physical and spectroscopic methods. Some of the synthesized compounds showed biological activity as antibacterial agents.
