| Abstract | ||
| The internet created a new atmosphere that turned radically the traditional models of communication. In such arena many media, including news agencies, have found its way to benefit from various new applications resulted from new communication technology, of which the interactivity represents the marking sign of the new media. So, this study discusses the extent to which Iraqi news agencies on the internet may keep in line with developments in the applications of interactivity and its features. It used a content analysis to shed light on interactivity features as may be found on six online Iraqi news agencies and for this purpose the study adopted six identified interactivity dimensions as proposed by Heeter from which the methodology of the study has benefited from. For the purpose of this study the researcher added seventh dimension for unexpected interactive features. The study revealed that 46.82% of the interactive features that were used to measure interactivity were available at the sites of the sample. | ||
