| Abstract | ||
| Aim of the study: To Ascertain the role of Cardiac causes, prevalence and their importance as a risk factors for ischemic stroke in the young age group patients that will help in management and proper investigating them. Patients and methods: 50 patients in age group 20-40 of both sex studied by ECG. Echocardiograjhy and MRI after rule out the TIA patients a "Transiet ischemic attack". Result: Congenital heart disease, Acquired heart disease and liyperten sion in young age group found to be statisically significant 46%. Abnormal ECG found in 38% of the patients while it is normal in 62%. Abnormal echocardiographic changes found in 22% while 78% were with normal echocardiography. Recurrent stokes found in 10% of the patients and no obvious cause in 38%. Conclusion: Prevalence of cardiac risk factors was 22% which is higher than other studies. This need more advanced investigations like transesophageal echocardiography or use transcranial doppler test. So increase detection of risk factor. | ||
