| Abstract | ||
| The present study was conducted to estimate the effects of age of patients afflicted with urolithasis and location of these stones on their compositions. Fifty-two calculi were obtained from 38 males and 14 females, their ages ranged from 1.8-85 year. The calculi were subjected to quantitative analyses, and sought for calcium, uric acid, phosphorus, oxalate, magnesium, and ammonium ion contents. The peak of urolithaisis was found to be in ages of (41-60 y). The highest calcium oxalate percentage was exhibited in the ages (20-40 y), while uric acid percentage was illustrated to be raised in elderly patients (61-90 y). Kidney calculi were indicated to be rich in calcium, oxalate, and magnesium, while vesical calculi were found to be rich in uric acid. | ||
