| Abstract | ||
| The aim of this work is study the effect of planter forward speed and the size and the shape of seeds and the interaction between them on safety droped seeds using edge – drop plate . The experiments were carried out using four forward speeds 0.48 , 0.66 , 1.22 and 1.76 m / sec , four seeds sizes for sorghum crop (circular shape seeds) 0.01 , 0.02 , 0.03 and 0.29 cm3 , and four seeds sizes for corn crop (semi- spherical shape seeds ) 0.20 , 0.23 , 0.27 and 0.44 cm3 and two feeding cell sizes 3.87 and 1.41 cm3 . The results showed that increasing the planter forward speed reduced the number of seeds in the hill and increased the number of the damaged seeds for all the seeds sizes and for both crop types . Increasing the seeds sizes lead to reduction in the number of the seeds plant in the hills and increased the number of damaged seed . | ||
