Abstract
The present study aims to investigate the effect of teaching the course of Curricula & Teaching Methodology , which is taught to third year students, College of Education, University of Thi Qar, on the scores those students get in the course of Observation & Teaching Practice. This effect will be further studied in terms of the variables of the learner's sex and field specialization The sample of the study consists of ( 396 ) students, males and females, from scientific and humanitarian departments for the academic year 2003 and 2004. The data obtained have been subjected to statistical analysis by using tests like Arithmetic Mean, Mode, Variance and LSD. The results show that there are significant differences between the levels of the observed variables in terms of the sample performance in the course of Observation & Teaching Practice at the level ( 0,05 ) as well as in terms of sex , field of specialization and the influence of teaching the course of Curricula & Teaching Methodology. Consequently, the study comes up with a number of recommendations as follows : 1. Emphasizing the importance of teaching and developing the course of Curricula & Teaching Methodology. 2. Confirming the necessity of having common criteria of applicants admission in scientific and humanitarian departments. 3. Conducting similar studies so as to expose the effect of teaching educational courses on the students' practical performance
