| الخلاصة انكليزي The study has come to the following conclusions: 1. Simone de Beauvoir considered literature not only the choicest means for self-realization but also an attempt to understand life and interpret the self. She, as a writer, believed in the necessity of being so attached to her whereabouts. Hence, she depended on literature a great deal as a vehicle for expressing the self rather than on abstractions. 2. She regarded the emancipation of woman a mere indissoluble part of humanity craving for Freedom. 3. She associated the struggle towards achieving Socialism with the struggle of woman to own full emancipation believing that the economic factor forms the basis for woman liberty. 4. Her intellectual writings showed features of firmness, seriousness and sharpness. The Literary and the Intellectual are distinct in her as two different modes never blended nor mixed. This is because she does not resort to employ informalities, lip-service, flattery nor sentimentalism when a problem, whether social, political or intellectual is traced, surveyed or tackled. She applies a clear demarcation in this respect. 5. She had no intention to standardize 'theories' in ethics nor did she strive to take the role of 'the Preacher or the Reformer'. She was after decrying the 'amoral' in life. It is true that she, just like other existentialist thinkers, took rather an ethical stand regarding all the then contemporary events and troubles – the social, political and intellectual. Her stand is embodied in rejecting pre-set values that were imposed on man as permanent ethics. 6. She never posed ethics as a mere realm of abstractions. Rather, she tended to form practical ethics put into everyday life use. 7. She tackled the problem of time with a dual perspective – a subjective one related to the private and the personal; and the general related to the public and the movement of man history. | ||
