Abstract
This research studies the decrease of motives of the students of the Department of Physics in the College of Education for their specialization and the methods of treating them. The sample of the researcher is the students of the department for the year 2010/2011. In order to achieve this aim, she used the descriptive method. The questionnaire consists of 31 item using a ternary measure, and the sample consists of 150 male and female . After student from all stages. Statistical means are used to analyze results (Pearson correlation coefficient for stability, Spearman Brown equation to adjust stability, probable medium, centesimal weight, arithmetic medium, difference and (T) test for two separate samples not equal in number. The study has identified some reasons for the decrease of motives of the students of the Department of Physics in the College of Education, the most apparent one is that the specialization requires daily efforts and follow-up in comparison with other departments. The probable medium for the item amounted to (2.49) and the centesimal weight (%83.1). There are no statistically significant differences in the decrease of motives according to sex variable and (first and fourth stage). Some methods of treating are presented in the study. Lastly, there are a few recommendations and suggestions.
